DIY Rolled Rose Headband

What you need……..

3 different colors of fabric

Some green and white felt

Elastic or a plastic or metal headband

(You can find a ton of different colors and styles of elastic on Etsy)

Scissors

Glue gun

Glue sticks

First cut your fabric into 1 ½ in. strips.

Next  fold  each side of fabric into the center. The sides should touch in the middle. Then fold it in half. Sometimes it helps to iron the fabric so it doesn’t unfold.

Next tie a knot in the end of your fabric.

Then you are going to wrap the fabric around the knot once and add a little dab of glue .

Next you are going to roll the fabric around the circle and then take the bottom of the fabric and fold towards you and add a dab of glue. Make sure you keep everything tight. Don’t use a lot of glue or it will turn into a big hot mess!!  Keep going until you get your desired size. Mine are about 1 in.

Next tuck the fabric under the flower and add glue. Then cut the tail off of your flower.

This is what the back will look like when you are done.

Make all 3 flowers the same way.

Once you get that done glue each flower onto the white felt. Then cut the felt away from the flowers.

Next cut out  6 small felt leaves and glue two together.

Take one set of leaves and add them in between each flower.

Wahoo!! Now your flowers are done.

Next take your elastic and wrap it around the head you want the headband to fit. Cut it at the desired length. Glue the two ends together.

Take your flower and glue them over the seam of the elastic.

Then cut out a circle of white felt and glue it to the back to give it a nice finished look.

Doesn’t that look awesome???

You could do so much with these flowers. You could add them to a clip…….

or a frame or wreath.……

Now wasn’t that fun!! I hope you enjoy making these rolled roses with me and just know that the first one isn’t always the prettiest but all you need is a little practice! I was looking through my pictures of the first ones I made and I can’t believe how much better they look now. Good luck and happy flower making!

Thanks!
