Spring Clean Your Financial Focus

Spring Clean Your Financial Focus!

I was driving down the hill to my home sobbing as the overbearing weight of financial cinder blocks pressed on my shoulders. The market crashing had a direct hit on my husband’s job, as he worked in mortgages and investing. Our house payment, car loans, utility bills, medical bills, food, gas and we should probably mention the 5 children and a dog—were all racing through my mind with an overwhelming hopelessness which I was beginning to waller in. I felt my fun loving, easy going, cheerful character drowning, while a personality of stress, worry and fear emerged.

I am a woman of faith. I have a solid belief in the blessings and miracles of God. Though I knew He HAD to be aware of me, I felt deeply on my own.

As I drove, I had a thought. Wether in my mind or from divinity, here’s how it went:

“You are here to be happy! Finances are tough right now, but you only have to face that 2 days a month…..On those two days where you have to pay bills (or not)—cry, throw a fit, freak out, be in a big bad mood! But the other 28 days of the month, you are to BE HAPPY!”

So there it is!

2 DAYS A MONTH!

Money, or the lack of it, can create serious trials. And, if we let it, can cause debilitating stress. But money will come and go…..You can have tons of it one day and lose it all in one second (trust me!). Money is not your friend and it is not loyal. So change your focus on money! Invite it into your life, but don’t give it power to navigate your life. Although necessary, we aren’t living to make money! We are alive to love, to serve and to have joy! “Stuff” will work out! Don’t waste any more than those 2 days a month on the ever changing financial roller coaster.

So, the bottom line.

Find focus in gratitude.

Find focus in family.

Find focus in laughing.

Find focus in faith.

Spring clean that financial focus

and only give it what it deserves!

This is fantastic! Give yourself the time you need but don’t let it become every minute – especially with finances, this is AMAZING insight! Thank you.
