Change

When I heard the theme for this month was Change, I thought “how appropriate,” as I am currently pregnant with my first child. I have been experiencing some pretty interesting changes over the last few months and I know a million more changes are coming my way. Change in this case is a little scary, but super exciting.

Change can be that way. One of the things I love about travel is that I get a taste of change with a quick switch of scenery. A little change breaks up the monotony of everyday life and brings some fresh perspective. I love the quote, “I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.” I firmly believe that and while not all change is easy to embrace, I welcome all of the learning and growing that seems to fit hand-in-hand with travel.

It’s funny to think that after 12 years in the travel industry, the coming years will completely change the way I travel. I’ll have to think about packing, our destinations, activities, where we eat, and mode of transportation in a whole new way. I may need to do a little more pre- vacation planning and a little less of the spur of the moment getaways. Either way, I’m excited to learn how to travel differently.

As huge Disney Theme Park fans, my husband and I will of course continue to visit the Disneyland Resort regularly, but we’ll now be introduced to things such as Disney’s baby care centers, the stroller pass for attractions, and spending vacation time in line to meet all sorts of costumed characters. I’m sure we’ll also explore all sorts of new destinations as a new little family. At Get Away Today, we offer over 1,900 destinations worldwide and I can’t wait to discover at least some of them with our little guy.

I know that I’ll gather a new collection of first-hand travel tips during this stage in my life. Of course the very best travel tip I can ever give goes right along with this month’s theme – be flexible. Your travel plans (like life) may not always turn out the way you expect, but if you choose to enjoy the journey, you’ll learn and grown in ways you’ve never expected.

Let Get Away Today help you on your next journey. Our travel experts excel at putting together the perfect vacation so all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride. 855-GET-AWAY or www.getawaytoday.com
